planet shining
m-flo's first album
planet shining is quite possibly one of my favorite albums i've ever listened to. japanese rnb is a really fun genre that i didn't realize would catch me like this. it takes heavy inspiration from real rnb from the 90's and mixes in what would now be breakcore and just the general switching between languages. like it makes me so crazy. i love it when music switches between languages, i love the ease of switching from english to japanese, and the actual instrumentals are also just so good. there's also a fun storyline going along with it, you are taking an airplane from earth to planet shining, which obviously the album is named after, and the interludes are like you are actually on a plane and you're in a crowd. i like albums with good interludes, which i will probably talk about more as i add more music to this list. this is minato's favorite album, and one of mine as well. plus its red. i like the color red.
favorite track: chronopsychology
minato comment: "taku takahashi is probably best known for his work with konami... rhythm games really are everything huh"
